Originally a 10th century Moorish Estate, the El Bulli Hacienda Benazuza later became part of the crusading order of the Knights of Santiago and subsequently the property of a succession of noblemen honoured with the title %u201CCount of Benazuza%u201D. In 1998 the hotel formed an association with El Bulli (Ferrán Adriá) for the technical gastronomic operations and it is now part of the El Bulli Hotels and Resorts%u201D concept, with Rafa Morales, the Chef, and Pepe García, manager of restaurant services, personally taking care of every detail. The end result of this all is that the hotel\’s %u201CLa Alqueria%u201D restaurant has recently been awarded its second Michelin star. It is therefore the only Andalusian restaurant and one of the ten in Spain that hold this prestigious classification. The El Bulli Hacienda Benazuza remains an oasis surrounded by lush gardens and enclosed by white washed walls, where an air of seclusion pervades the air. The endless views of the centenary olive groves mix with the whisper of the fountains and subtle perfumes of the gardens.
